Lila is Home!!!!!! Aleese had to do some forceful negotiations with the nurse and doctors to get them to realize she knows best. The doctors wanted to see Lila eat and drink more, but Lila really resisted that. We, on the other hand, felt like it wouldn't be an issue once we got her home. Sure enough--when we got home we popped open a box juice and Lila started sucking it up like a sponge. We officially got released from the hospital last night at 7:30.
We were all relieved with the idea of sleeping in our own beds last night. To prove that point we all slept in until 9:30 this morning. Lila feels a little pain here and there, especially when we pick her up, but overall is doing better than anyone could have expected. This morning when Lila saw our neighbor, Serita, she got so excited she walked down our front steps to see her. Those were her fist steps in 5 days. It is nice to see her getting comfortable enough to move more freely. Now Lila is waiting for her friend, Ethan, to hurray up and eat lunch so he can come over and see her. We had a picture of Ethan at the hospital, and when the doctor saw his picture and said, "Who is this?", Lila happily replied, "that's my buddy".
We are feeling very grateful here at the Harris household. We have been on the receiving end of so many blessings, prayers and love. God is truly taking care of us.
Yea!!! I am so happy for Lila and all of you. That just proves 'There is no place like Home'.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Lila is doing so well. Take care of that little angel and don't forget to take care of yourselves too. Give Lila and Afton a hug from Judy and Mike. Love ya.
